How does Givers support caregivers and their families?
Givers hires, supports, and pays family caregivers through Medicaid programs.

If the family qualifies for the program in a state that Givers serves, we help them with the administration involved in getting enrolled.

Once a family is enrolled, you must work with a licensed agency to document your work, get support, and get paid as their caregivers. Givers can serve as your licensed agency to help them easily meet all requirements.
How quickly can a family start receiving services from Givers after applying?
After pre-qualifying through the application form on the Givers site, we send referrals to a state-contracted case management agency that will contact them within ~10 days for a phone screening to begin enrollment.

The next step is an in-home assessment by the same case management agency within ~7 days. After that, the application is submitted to Medicaid for approval.

Once sent to Medicaid, Givers starts the caregiver onboarding process, which includes a background check and signing your contract. As soon as Medicaid approves the application, Givers will schedule a nurse visit to begin your service.

The timeline for starting services with Givers can vary depending on individual circumstances and the program for which the family is eligible. Our team works diligently to expedite the process and provide support as soon as possible.
How quickly can a family start receiving services from Givers after requesting a transfer?
If a family decides to transfer to Givers from another agency provider, it will take a few days to process the transfer, but there will be no break in compensation.
Can Givers help with the Medicaid waiver application process?
Givers can help with the Medicaid waiver application process to a certain extent. Our strong relationships with case management allow us to stay on top of the process and keep it moving forward. We are also happy to answer any questions and provide guidance to ensure the family understands the requirements and procedures involved.
Are there any costs associated with using Givers' services?
No. Givers support is covered by Medicaid, so there are no out-of-pocket costs for using Givers' services.
What kind of training and support does Givers provide?
Under the program for which Givers offers agency services, caregivers are required to complete a set amount of training annually to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge. We take pride in providing customized training programs tailored to the specific needs of each caregiver and their loved one, ensuring you receive the most relevant and effective education possible.
Does Givers offer any additional resources or tools?
Our extensive library of articles and podcasts, covering a wide range of caregiving topics, is available to everyone at any time.
Can Givers assist with emergency situations or provide backup care?
Depending on the program in which the family is enrolled, they may be eligible for respite care, and other services. While families are not paid for these days, this service offers relief during emergencies or when they need a break. Givers can contact case management on their behalf to coordinate the respite service.
