At Givers, we're on a mission to empower family caregivers with the savings and support they deserve. When you're busy caring for a loved one, you might know that you need a product or service but need more time or energy to find the right one. We take the time to source, vet, and negotiate discounts with the best companies and products on your behalf.
We're thrilled to introduce PicnicHealth to the Givers Marketplace. PicnicHealth puts people's medical records into their hands and their caregivers. They do all the work—phone calls, faxes, follow-ups—to retrieve medical records and organize them into a simple digitized health timeline. Members get free access to PicnicHealth with the opportunity to earn additional money by contributing de-identified medical data to research.
"Organizing and accessing medical records is a significant burden for people caring for loved ones," said Givers founder and CEO Max Mayblum. "PicnicHealth makes it easy for family members to save time and earn extra money, which is central to our mission at Givers. We are excited to offer PicnicHealth to our members and their loved ones through our exclusive marketplace."
Managing medical records can be difficult and time-consuming when caring for your loved one. You can sign up with PicnicHealth simply by answering a few questions about your loved one and their health care providers.
As soon as you finish, PicnicHealth contacts your loved one's healthcare providers and hospitals. Your care recipient can sign a HIPAA authorization form allowing PicnicHealth to act on their behalf requesting their medical records.
Once complete, you will have access to fully organized, tagged, and labeled electronic health records to have total control over your loved one's health history. PicnicHealth will proactively reach out to your loved one's healthcare providers every few months to stay on top of their medical records. If you want to ensure your loved one's patient portal is as up-to-date as possible, you can tell PicnicHealth if you have or will soon have an appointment. Similarly, you can add new doctors or medical practices when applicable.
Many caregivers also consent to donate their loved one's medical records anonymously, as medical research from patient records can be far more impactful in advancing care for rare diseases.
"We are thrilled to offer PicnicHealth through the Giver's marketplace," said Noga Leviner, PicnicHealth's Co-Founder and CEO. "As a patient with Crohn's disease, I struggled to manage my medical records, inspiring us to start PicnicHealth. I'm glad that PicnicHealth has allowed caregivers to spend more time caring for their loved one, prevent missteps in medical care, and make informed decisions."
